Our Company

Sonoforma is a Canadian company designing custom furniture and integrated audio systems for the spaces where music happens — recording studios, listening rooms, and hospitality environments — produced in Nicaragua.

We started by building furniture-grade guitar cabinets, on a simple belief: musicians deserve gear that looks as considered as it sounds. That same philosophy now extends to full spaces — a producer's desk, a listening room's cabinetry, a café's built-ins. Different scale, same standard: the rooms and tools built for sound shouldn't look like an afterthought.

Our Craft

Every piece is built from solid teak and exotic hardwoods, sustainably sourced in an FSC certified workshop on Nicaragua's Pacific coast. Our team is trained in fine furniture construction — hand-cut joinery, hand-sanded surfaces, materials selected for both look and longevity. The same techniques and attention apply whether we're building a single cabinet or a multi-piece studio system.

Founder Bio

Mike Nopper founded Sonoforma at the intersection of two backgrounds: design engineering for pro-audio systems, and furniture manufacturing leadership. That combination is the foundation the brand is built on — an eye for sound and an eye for craft, applied to the same problem.

Sonoforma started with a simple observation: musical gear is rarely designed to belong in a home. That led to the first cabinets. It's since grown into something larger — full studio and listening environments, built with the same materials and care, for studio builders, producers, and hospitality spaces directly.

Mike leads Sonoforma full-time between Canada and Nicaragua, working with clients directly from concept through fabrication and delivery.
