Founded in 2023, Sonoforma is a Canadian company that crafts unique furniture pieces inspired by the hi-fi consoles of the 70s. Our mission is to seamlessly blend high-end furniture design with exceptional musical functionality, elevating both the sound and the style in your home.

At the core, Sonoforma's belief is that musical equipment should not only sound good, it should look good. This philosophy challenges conventional notions surrounding amplifiers by prioritizing function over form, and stripping away notions of portability and durability meant for touring gear.

Our Practices

Made from 100% teak hardwood, our products are sustainably sourced and FSC certified, offering finishes in natural, walnut, and mahogany stains.

Produced in Nicaragua by skilled craftsmen, each piece combines the elegance of fine furniture with the musicality of boutique guitar cabinets.

Founder Bio

Driven by a passion for music and a commitment to redefining the intersection of function and aesthetics in musical equipment, Mike Nopper founded Sonoforma with a vision to elevate the standard of guitar gear. With a background in design engineering for pro-audio sound systems and leadership roles in the furniture industry, Mike observed a disconnect between the rugged industrial aesthetics of traditional music equipment and the refinement many crave in their living space. Inspired by the timeless elegance of hi-fi consoles from the 70s, he set out to create a line of products that seamlessly blend musical functionality with sophisticated design.

Beyond Sonoforma, Mike serves as the head of engineering for an esteemed American furniture brand. Prior to founding Sonoforma, he launched a successful venture manufacturing flat-packed guitar cabinet kits which is still popular in North America. This entrepreneurial journey underscores Mike's deep-rooted passion for bettering the tools musicians use.
